ABOUT
Hi, I'm Chloe Wong.
Speech pathologist, clinical director and researcher specialising in bilingual children’s language development.
I founded Blackburn Speech & Paediatric Therapy, a multidisciplinary clinic supporting children and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Through my clinical work, I saw a recurring issue: bilingual children are often assessed using monolingual norms.
This creates confusion — for families, educators, and even clinicians — and can lead to both over- and under-identification of language difficulties.
To address this, I began my research journey with a clear goal: to lead my team in delivering bilingual assessment and therapy grounded in the latest evidence — not assumption, but data-informed clinical decision-making.
I help parents and professionals move beyond uncertainty, with clear, evidence-based strategies to support children’s communication across languages and cultures.
Bilingualism is not the problem. The lack of appropriate tools to understand it is.
Through this platform I share practical frameworks via my podcast Bilingual Speech Spot, my parenting column 《教養之橋》, and professional development for educators and clinicians.
